Our human & sheep crew.

More than just wool.

The felter. The wool processor. Flock health manager. Marketer. The teacher.

Audrey Comerford has been needle felting since 2011. What started out as reluctant participation in a high school artist in residence program quickly turned into a small business. Although she did not grow up raising sheep, Audrey learned the importance of agriculture and art from an early age and feels very lucky to be able to blend the two in her craft. Audrey feel in love with Romney sheep, especially the natural colored ones. They hold up well to the Willamette Valley climate. She currently works at OSU Extension Service and when she is not doing that, Audrey is felting or taking care of the flock.

The facilities manager. The overall support.

Cody Comerford grew up raising different types of livestock through FFA, including meat sheep. Although sheep have not always been his favorite animal to raise, Cody enjoys the opportunity to care for the land and works to restore the pastures that were overgrown when the couple bought the place in 2018. Whether it is fences or barns, you can usually find him outside on the 1980’s Kabota tractor working to improve the property.

The four-legged coworkers.

While turning the wool into something beautiful is an important step in the business, it would not be possible without the sheep who grow the wool. On the farm there are primarily Romneys, although there are a mix of different sheep breeds for different purposes. The Romney sheep grow massive fleeces in a range of colors from whites to a range of grays. These beautiful, although a bit spoiled, animals live a happy life and because of that they produce strong, beautiful fiber for felting and spinning. Currently, there are about 15 sheep although that number fluctuates seasonally.
